Now i place $5.00 on the pass line, new point is a 9. I place behind the line odds I also put odds on my 5 come bet,I have $33.00 on the table he 7 outs on the next roll. How do you handle this aggravation.

Hi StephanP,

In the betting scenario you described, there are four bets on the table. When betting on a random roller you want to minimize the amount bet. The way to do that is just have one bet on a random roller. Generally one come bet is best as this has the lowest house edge. When the five count is completed with the roll of a box number, place a come bet (or a pass line bet if it is a come-out roll). At this time you are hoping for a 7 – especially if you have a come bet as this will be a win for you and the shooter is done with his roll. If the shooter establishes a point, you can take odds – or not – depending on your bankroll. Remember, you want to save your bankroll for bets when you are throwing the dice so don’t over bet the random rollers.
Using this method of betting will avoid the frustration of losing a lot of bets as you are only betting one. On the flip side, the shooter may hit number after number but not the one you are on and that can be frustrating. Just remember, in the long run betting on a random shooter will lose money, so the less you bet the less you will lose.
Discipline is the most important quality in becoming an advantage player and it is the most difficult for almost everyone.

what works best for me and is the most fun in terms of feeling like i am
part of the table, is to play a come bet on roll 4 and then a come bet on roll 5. I
use a $5 bet. so i have $10 invested and have had two rolls where i had an advantage.

Then like Jerry said, depending on how i am doing i may place 1 single odds bet
on each number up, or on one. If i hit one of the come bets i come back with another
and if the roll then continues i treat it like it was a controlled roller throwing.

i cant always say i play like this because i dont, but i should, on most evenings
you will be glad you did.

When I read this post, my first thought was that was too many bets to have up at one time. Especially that early in a roll.

Stick with one (two at most) bets to start with. I prefer to place the 6 OR 8 OR one come bet with single odds to start. If I get lucky and win, I’ll pocket the win (now I’m even) and place a second bet (same bet for place or another come bet). Now I can play a little since I’m even for that hand, press or spread out. If the shooter get hot, I may have all the box numbers covered on the final 7-out, but my initial risk was only 1 unit.

This way I look and feel like I’m in the game without too much risk. Again the idea of the 5 count is to allow you to still be at the table when the big roll come, hopefully while you’re shooting. But I have had, on more than one occaision, a random roller go on a tear and save what would have been a losing night for me.

I agree with stick man and gman. Myself i rarely place a 6 or 8 on a random roller unless he or she is throwing 8s and 6s during the 5 count. Usually once they make the 5 count I will make a min come bet and put 2x odds on it. So often they throw a seven on roll 6 and I get paid. If they make thier point I may make a min passline bet for the comeout. After that I am waiting for a few winners before I press or spread out. My normal spread when I am throwing is $90 to $120 so I try to keep my spread on a random shooter under $30. If I decide to spread out it is usually with come bets.
