Hey all….
How important is getting your SRR above 1.6 if you are a novice? So far, I haven’t been able throw higher than 21 rolls before I 7-out and then any throws after that are in below 10 or in the mid-teens(10-12).
When did throwing in upper 20’s , 30’s ,40’s or even 50’s become a consistent thing instead of a once in a lifetime roll?

By betting properly do you mean betting the passline with odds, betting on the 6 and 8, plus come bets with odds?

Everyone here has run into a point-seven-fiesta event… it’s rough but it does happen.
Does a baseball player, any player, hit a home run, triple or double or even just get ON base every time? Nope.
You can make good money on rolls into the teens, as Dom says, figure out your edge and bet into it. :ugeek:

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the only way to make to good money during those kinds of rolls is to be super aggressive (ex. The Big Skinny)? Is there another way to do this?

Brothelman hit the nail on the head when he said you have to make money (or lose only a little) on the 8 to 20 rolls. You don’t have to bet real aggressively, for if you hit a couple of paydays with the Big Skinny, your will win a little or lose very little. This protects your bank roll while you wait for the long rull which will come in due time.
Dom is the one who always talks about having a bank roll and that the amount yout bet (put at risk) is based on the size of the bank roll. Also remember that your bank roll is money you can lose–and I mean all of it–and it does not affect your ability to pay the rent, buy groceries and take care of your family. With this bank roll you don’t worry about the losses since you know you have a edge over the casino and you will win in the long run.
Usually The Beautiful Alligator Rose and I (if we lose and we do from time to time) the loss for a typical 3 night trip is from $200 to $800 depending on how we do. However the winning trips are from $1200 to $4000, which more than makes up for those losses that we all hate. On top of all of that we get free and/or discounted rooms and some free food whether we win are lose. And all this time we are doing something we love to do with friends we really like. Does it get any better than that!!!
My advise is get your bank roll in order, make only the low edge bets as you and ACPA listed, and don’t worry about the losses. Sometimes in the casino and in practice when you throw the dice it simply doesn’t feel right. Stop playing and take a break, read a book by the pool, or as the old Doc does take a nap.
Just remember we are the casino with the edge over the long run. The casinos do not win from everybody every time. If nobody ever won, the casino would have no customers. Take your losses in stride and move on. You don’t have to like the losses just accept them.
Just a few thougbhs. Hope this will help you in your journey in advantage casino play.

O getting back the SRR is not to important unless it is with repeat numbers that you have bets on .
Like you have a 20 roll but you only bet on the 6 or 8 and you rolled them once it is not that good but if you rolled them 10 or 12 times that is good .
Your SRR will change all the time but in the long run it will come down it is repeating numbers that will make you money and that comes with practice and more practice .
Also that changes a lot if you try for come out 7s or if you throw a lot of crap numbers .
Now passing smart craps is another story. I have had rolls in the 40 , 50 even 60 and never passed smart craps except for 3 .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

In the long haul the 6 and 8 are the bets .JUST remember that the record is held by a lady that had only rolled the dice 2 times before. Or the second time ever rolling the dice .
You can never tell what will happen just enjoy the journey.
Good R olling. 😀

However even a small mat advantage, I.e like a 6.5 SRR, give you a long term advantage if you bet right.
