Just Got My Email and Internet Back — Some Thoughts

Spread the love

I’m back. Just got my Internet and email service back two hours ago.

Hurricane Sandy did some job on my area in New York but thankfully the Beautiful AP and I are okay.

We were in Hawaii when Sandy hit (I’ve written a complete article about that trip – trying to figure out where to publish it) but when we got home there was some damage to the house — big branches down; also no electricity, no email, no heat, no Internet and all my tropical fish dead from the cold.

I wanted to write some posts about our 10th Anniversary weekend and the great job Lee "Section8" did on our presentation. This guy is truly talented and he’s easy to work with. So thanks Section8 because without you there would have been no presentation.

I want to thank the Goddess for all her help in setting up everything for our banquet. Without her it would have been impossible to do everything the right way. Thank you Goddess!

I want to thank all the GTC instructors for the lovely gift on our 10th Anniversary and I hope everyone has put their 10th Anniversary plaques somewhere you can gaze upon them. Without our great instructors there is no GTC.

We had a big class weekend as well.

It was great to see such motivated students and I do hope you follow our advice to the letter about when to play, how to play and what bets to make.

I still don’t have telephone service and power lines are blocking my driveway but that is trivial compared to what some of my friends have gone through — and any of you who have written me will have to wait for reponses since I am going through 2,000+ emails.

That’s it for now. Great to be back.

Oh, yeah, almost forgot. I have a new book out Casino Conquest: How to Beat the Casinos at Their Own Games!. Could use some sales to help buy some new tropical fish. 😀 You can buy from GTC (1-866-SET-DICE) or Amazon.com. Should be available in all bookstores…are there any bookstores still around?

As we watched the storm come through from here in Philly we were very concerned for our many GTC friends in Jersey. Glad to hear you are okay. Too bad about the fish. Thanks for the advice to dream about all the long rolls I would have when I was physically able to play. I played yesterday and the experiance was great both $ wise and confidence wise. Thanks for your advice and support as I go through this recovery. Good uck with the cleanup and fish tank. Look forward to seeing you in March.

Where can we read article about Hawaii trip?

Is this the book that has Skinny’s "Pai Gow" section in it?

No, Skinny’s Pai Gow will appear in an upcoming book titled Everything Poker.

Casino Conquest is about all the non-poker games – some advantage games, some not – but has a whole host of stories and analysis that I think even the best players will enjoy. (That’s my sales pitch. Sandy has destroyed my book sales at the moment. 🙁 )

Amazon.com gives a great discount but you can also buy direct from me at 1-866-SET-DICE. In fact (and don’t tell the beautiful AP this) I will give a better discount than Amazon for a few days — 50% off! — plus $6 shipping and handling, so the total will be $8.48 for the book plus $6 = $14.48. The hurricane and the horror I faced in Hawaii have gotten to me…obviously. So call 1-866-SET-DICE and order.

I will be putting the article up on our main free page as soon as I go through the pictures Jerry "Stickman" took. He and his wife Tres enjoyed the trip even with the horrors.

Or I can email it to you if you can open a Microsoft Word attachment. Just send me your email. (fscobe@optonline.net)

My email address is fscobe@optonline.net = I had it wrong above (corrected it though), so if you want an advanced copy of the Hawaii article "Fear and Loafing in Hawaii" just email me and I will send it.
