Your replies build confidence

For all you GTC instructors and members who have taken the time to read my posts and share your advice and experiences I want to thank you, they most certainly build confidence.

I know it’s not wise to hit the Casino before taking the classes but I just can’t do it, when opportunity comes I find it irresistible, that’s not to say I don’t have control I only take a few dollars. Anyway I had the opportunity to go for a few hours tonight and just got home. The entire ride home I was thinking about how great full I am that this forum exists and I have the benefit of asking questions and reading the replies that really help and it showed.

The last few times I have gone I posted "frustrated" and complained about people placing chips in my landing zone, I also complained about how the chicken feeders would get on longer rolls then me. This time I paid no attention to what the other people were doing, I watched how lively the dice were reacting and I paid more attention to what I was going to do. Where I would land the dice, how many people were at the other end of the table, who the late betters were. This way when it was my turn all I had to do was focus on what I needed to do.

I did very well, I didn’t make a ton of dough I bet small on a $15 table I really wanted to practice in real life. What I really noticed was my confidence level, after recording my practice rolls into smart craps I felt I had an arsenal for any point that would come out. The dice flew evenly and on axis I was relaxed and they flew so nicely that on my first come out I hit three 7’s in a row the best part is I was trying to make the 7. My first point was a 6 smart craps gave me a dice set of 1:3/5:3 for the 6/8 so I set my dice checked my grip looked for my spot and boom first throw 5:1. This happen 3 more times with each point, I made my point within 1 to 3 rolls, not all 6’s. I had one 10 and hit that with 5:5 plus I had decent come out rolls. I use the YO Set on my come out and bet the whirl, I put the dealers up $5 whirl and hit the 6:6 they were happy cuz I also hit the yo with them on it as well. I did kind of fall apart after having two decent turns, but I know why. I got cocky I started throwing harder the dice weren’t as smooth I can see the way they flew one die kept wobbling and I couldn’t recover So I stopped and colored up and left, but it was fun and it was a real learning experience. The first thing I learned is how humbling this thing is!

And all of you who took the time to offer tips and advice truly helped me feel that confidence, and Dom if you read this post, I was able to move my landing zone twice in one set. I swear I think that guy was purposely putting his chips in my way, he kept moving to different spots. I Did it tho I picked the spot and hit it so thanks for that.
Thanks to all of you,

Hopefully many more rolls are in your future.

There will be setbacks also.

Good shooting.

I am reading this Pat and thank you for the kind words. I think that our guys and gals are the best and more than willing to put in their time to come to this site and respond to questions. You know they get paid to teach, but they do not get paid to answer questions on this site.

They take time out of their day to look at post and to respond. They should all be applauded!

Dominator

PS good shooting!

Ya Dom that’s what figured and that is why I wanted to offer gratitude where it was due, I meant every word.

Can’t wait to take the classes and hone my skills, maybe one day I will be an instructor as well, god knows I wish there was someplace near Staten Island I could go and hang & practice with fellow members.
