Where To Aim

Spread the love

Hey All…

I’m a novice dice controller and I have a question in regards to aiming the dice during a roll at a crowed table. From watching at the GTC DVD, it says the dice should land about 6 to 8 inches from the back wall but alot of times other shooters have their money lined up along the Passline making it difficult for the dice to land there. I am able to shoot over other people’s money and hit the back wall but the dice will roll back into the chips stacked along the Passline stopping it’s momentum and often resulting in a 7-out.

Any help is appreciated.

Yea sometimes it can be a challenge. sometimes I will aim for a spot slghtly to the right or left of thier chips. Sometimes if it is really crowded I will lower my trajectory and aim for a spot in front of thier chips hoping to bounce my toss over thier wall and die on th back wall. Experiment and find what worka for you. there are times when nothing gett the dice past thier chips without touching. the lighter the kiss the better.

If the table offers a fire bet, I aim for the fire bet symbol just behind the pass line. At the casino I play at they usually post that mark just behind the pass line near the corner. Hitting that mark still gives you a straight wall to bounce the dice off the back wall.

I always say that part of dice control is to become a "Target Shooter". You need to be able to place your dice where you want to.

Now sometimes landing over the chips in your way will work, but most of the time the better move is to land your dice in an open area between the chips in your way. Remember you want to get to a point where the dice hit the table, bounce off the wall, and land straight back.

The ability to be a target shooter is something we all need to strive for

Thanks Dom!! Now my next question would be how do you practice "target shooting" on a practice rig? Just make a wall of chips and try to aim between the area where the chips are and the back wall?

That one way to do it. Another is to get a small bowl/can and try to land the dice in it.

Move the target around.

This type of idea is listed in prior posts, so go through them. There are lots of things to learn from prior post.

Yep, what ACAP said is the way to do it. If you don’t have a wooden bowl you can cut the bottom of a 2 liter soda bottle and use that. Put some tissues in the bowl. The trick is to keep both dice in the bowl

Hey Cmcierra..,

The fire bets at the casinos I visit usually have their markers behind the Pass Line and runs along the mixing bowl and i thought throwing the dice there is a big no-no.

No general rule on locations of those, YMMV on the Fire Bet indicator, but most I have seen are placed at spots that players stand at, so there are multiple ones. Now, there is a place that I play at that has a small box with the rules of a prop bet that is in the perfect spot for me when I visit… it is THE perfect target! 😎
As for the change in target… help me out here, guys who know…
Best case if you are rolling, it should be straight back to the wall from where you are tossing, right? If you now aim to the left or right of that spot, you may force the dice off to that direction then basically go random, yes?

I like one of two places, right at the drunk who can not keep his hands out of the game, or down the top of the gorgeous woman that is so distracting that you can not focus.

Just my thoughts i mean the game is for fun, right?

I actually did hit a drunk guy one night during a roll! LMAO!! Hit him right between the eyes too! Still waiting on the gorgeous woman to show up to distract me during the game though. 😉

Depending on the table layout. Most casinos are different. If the fire bet target spot is left of the mixing bowl, you’re alright. you will still have the straight back of the table to hit. yes stay out of the mixing bowls. 😀
