The entire weekend, from a Craps point of view, can be summed up simply … No harm, No foul. Nothing spectacular and nothing really ugly either. We played at several venues, both on and off strip, and other than being admonished once to hit the back wall there was no heat at all. Several comments about all of us studying at the same school but no problems
Dropped in on the Class venue and other that Frank trying to kill me opening the door on me that too was uneventful. Thanks Frank, from this point forward I will always be afraid of unopened doors as I approach them. Looked like a full house for both the Primers, refreshers and others.
Mr. F, I enjoyed our two brief encounters. Perhaps next time I’ll sign up for another Tune-up so we can talk longer.
Went into the weekend using the Big Skinny and that combined with using the 5 count and not betting on most of the random public I certain kept me mostly even. There were swings where I was up or down. Nothing to write home about and certainly no monsters. I, myself, had a high in the mid twenties with several teens. But again I started with the crap numbers and would throw several of those, enough to take an otherwise decent teen roll and turn in into a net loser.
I’m confidant now that the proper way for a $5 player to bet odds when using the Big Skinny, for the risk intolerant (light Bankroll), and make a decent return is more than double odds. I started out taking double odds on every Come bet and the Pass line. As the weekend progressed I saw that my winnings weren’t keeping pace with the losses. After a while I started going right to max on the 4/10 (3, 4, 5 X tables, most were) and Double on the 5, 6, 8 and 9. On the inside I would take one hit and on the second go up to max. That seemed to work out better and I saw more growth in the rack. JBW also suggested increasing the Pass odds to max as the roll lengthened, which I hadn’t been doing. He’s a smart man that JBW, that’s why I allow him to maintain "MY" Farrari.
Four of us had a different lunch experience. In the Gold Coast there is a place named Ping Pang Pong. It’s advertised as one of the 50 MUST do places in LV. After we were seated Goldfinger looked around and mentioned that we were the only round eyes in the joint. These wait persons were pushing steam carts around the place and would stop at the table. We would then be assailed with heavily accented English, I think, and saucers with unidentifiable food items would be thrust out for our inspection.
We were all sitting there looking at each other asking what now, what’s she saying and what the hell is that. I just said, yes we’ll take that and that and some of those. We think most were fish based and then there were the Duck wings (mistaken for Asian Ribs) with Duck tongues. Yum, Yum. When we were seated they left a card at the table. Every time we took another dish the waiter would put a stamp on the card. We had no idea how much had been spent and really what we were eating. But what ever it was, it was tasty, except for the Duck tongue. Those weren’t touched.
Overall a fun, relaxing but uneventful trip. I did go to the Jimmy Buffet Concert with The Griz, his spousal unit and a friend. Getting to old to stand for an entire concert though, not sure why everyone has to stand during one of his concerts or why they insist on seating the little girls who have to scream every time Jimmy utters a sound right behind me. Couldn’t hear a thing but that shrill scream for several hours afterwards.
