I shouldn’t do this. I know I shouldn’t do this but once in awhile I will do what I shouldn’t do.
I will answer some of the attacks by my critics…just don’t tell my wife, the beautiful AP that I am doing this, okay?
I just finished reading an 11-part “non-fiction fiction” about the history of dice control (something CIII wanted us to write about on this web site – see my reply to his “Jump to Judgment!” post for definition of “non-fiction fiction”).
It was filled with interesting stuff. I won’t be able to handle everything but here goes on a few points:
Criticism: I will never allow anyone to have longer rolls than I have at the tables – even Dominator can’t. This contention was also leveled by a former staff member of GTC who has a strong dislike for Dom. In short, the rolls are all fictitious since I have such control over everyone I work with and in GTC.
Answer: Just go to the World Records page at http://www.goldentouchcraps.com/worldrecords.php4 and see how many GTCers and instructors have had better rolls than me. Yes, I did roll an 89 but between that and my second best roll Dominator, Stickman, Skinny and other GTCers have eclipsed me substantially. Indeed, the greatest roll by any GTCer wasn’t mine. It was Sandtrap’s 90!
Criticism: I stole money from the first Golden Touch Casino Craps Tournament.
Answer: This has been making the rounds for years. Not so. I think we charged $199 (?) (someone help me out here) and we had a decent turnout – maybe 100 paid? The net was divided up and given out as prizes. Now, these prizes were not huge – they were in the hundreds or less but there were dozens of them – and I was criticized for this. So I decided, foolishly, to send all the bills we paid for the banquet rooms, food, trophies, publicity, tables, movers, stage – what have you – to one of the individuals to show him that I did everything I said I would do. That individual, even after I sent all this proof, continued to claim I stole money – maybe because he was another guy we let go from our teaching staff? Oh, and that is why as soon as the nonsense started about our 10th Anniversary Celebration I pulled the plug on making this a general party for everyone in GTC and kept it just for the instructors and invited friends.
Criticism: The Captain had nothing to do with dice control.
Answer: If you look at this page http://www.goldentouchcraps.com/captain_summary.shtml you’ll see that the Captain was the first to tackle dice control in the modern casino. I never said he invented it in world history – he figured it out in the modern game where the pyramids exist on the back wall.
Criticism: Dom and I were not banned from Mississippi casinos – or if we were it was because of blackjack.
Answer: True, we were banned from individual casinos because of blackjack but the monster banning week came from craps. Indeed, one of the memorable moments was at The Grand (now Harrah’s) in Tunica when about eight suits came down to stop Dom and me from shooting on a Monday morning. Recall that Stickman had gone on a tear that Friday and Dom and I were also hot that weekend. From then on casino after casino banned us – casinos we had never played blackjack in! (The entire story is told in my book The Virgin Kiss.)
Some of you on this site had to take the buses from Tunica to Memphis when Dom and I were threatened with arrest a couple of years ago. These are real stories with real witnesses, not products of my imagination.
Criticism: The Mississippi Casino Control Commission doesn’t have us on their “black book” of criminals.
Answer: Obviously, we have committed no crimes so why would we be listed on such a list? The casinos have their own black books and these have card counters, dice controllers as well as criminals on them.
Criticism: We ruined dice control for Tunica.
Answer: Maybe. But the heat started with Dom and my pictures being sent to the casinos from some anonymous source just before we arrived for our class. That was the first shot. So who sent those pictures? A letter also came, supposedly written by me, that claimed I had said we were going to kick the casinos’ asses while we were there.
A point of fact, during our second Casino Tournament in Vegas someone called the Gaming Commission to tell them we were doing illegal gambling at the hotel where we were holding the tournament. Inspectors came, saw what we were actually doing and jokingly said they’d like to participate. So who called the Commission and told them we were gambling illegally? We know someone called them because the inspectors told us so.
Criticism: All my books use the “rule of three” in my stories.
Answer: See “Jump to Judgment” response by me about this rule of three.
Criticism: I use many sock puppets.
Answer: Those are fake individuals that I pretend are writing things. The criticism lists many sock puppets as me – some of you, by the way, are me. I did this several times (and I am so sorry for that stupidity as I probably will be for writing this post) but some of the sock puppets mentioned were sock puppets of the former GTC instructor who is now one of our critics and some of our other critics! The owner of the web site was caught as a sock puppet on someone else’s web site. I guess I could go on but you get the picture. Let he who be without sin.
My wife just dropped into my office, read over my shoulder and told me to “stop this, you can’t convince anyone of anything if they don’t want to believe it. Those who know you know you; those who are attacking don’t know you or they have an agenda.”
Okay. Okay…She just walked out. I’m posting this. I pray it doesn’t diminish me in your eyes. There’s more but I think I’ll stop thinking about it.

I’d like to thank those of you who have already sent me emails — I mean it is early in the morning for most people — telling me to ignore the critics. I also realize that instead of setting the record straight all I have done is elevated these characters into stronger positions. Now they can attack and figure I’ll respond.
I am toying with taking this post down.
Oh, by the way, very funny Mr. (You Know Who You Are), I am NOT CIII.

Oh, by the way, very funny Mr. (You Know Who You Are), I am NOT CIII.
And I am not fscobe!
I could not hold a torch for Frank as far as writing, dice control, knowledge of the game, any knowledge of other gambling games, communication, or administration.
I am better with a computer than Frank.

We both decided that we would read all this stuff that was sent, and then decide. Well Frank read it all before I even started and I guess this post came about VERY early this morning. Frank rises out of bed even earlier than I do!
There is so many more lies and things … things that would really hurt some of the x GTCer’s if we talked about. I can tell you that when you are attacked and lies are said, you really are tempted to put it all on the table with facts and witnesses, but valor has the better of me.
On with my day

I had forgotten about the storms that weekend. We were very lucky that the MS gaming commission would not allow us to have that class in MS because if you recall there was a small tornado that morning that took out the surrounding power grid and the hotel that was our Tunica site didn’t have any power for the entire day on Saturday so we would not have been able to teach the class there. I have a video on my phone showing the back parking lot in Memphis with 6 in of water running through it. Really wild weather!

"Stickman" wrote: I agree with your final statement: "I’ll stop thinking about it". That is excellent advice. Alene is right. But thank you for sharing what you did. Jerry
I agree with Jerry. I read the posts on the other site some time ago and find them distasteful.
The posts say a lot more about the person writing them than anything. 🙄
Wish we could all just get along, but that’s asking too much, I guess…

And I also don’t blame GTC for cancelling an all out party for the 10th anniversary this October because it immediately had people complaining. Why should Frank, Dom and the instructors have to deal with that stuff?
Posted by: Guest on September 16, 2012, 2:20 am
A fact quite obviously overlooked is that at one time all of the principals of the competing dice control companies worked together. A much overlooked fact is that of all the original dice controllers, the GTC board has the fewest members from the original group.
Many on this board attribute the name-calling to the author of the 11-part history. It is very clear, upon reading it, that the name calling came from an earlier board owned by a totally different person.
Clark personally knows most of the people that this ugliness is attibuted to. He doubts sincerely that the principals of all of these competing companies couldn’t still sit down and have a civil conversation over a nice meal.
It is undoubledly a credit to Frank for creating GTC as we all know it. He is a master marketer. It is no wonder that GTC is perceived to be "the cream of the crop." Please don’t shoot the messenger of this
11-part history as he is a great guy and knows just as much as Dom, after all they both have their origins in the Parr courses.

Next, Jezzzzz L&C! I read that series and I can tell you that what was written was a pack of lies! Like I said in an earlier post, I could go through so many of the things that were written and tell the world the truth, but I won’t because I know it would hurt so many people. That series is loaded with un-truths!
There are reasons that some of the original principles are no longer with us. I will just mention one, Street Dog got religion and no longer gambles. Even the author said that many of things he wrote came to him third hand! And some of the responders have a ax to grind!
Scan said it when he said that big lies can get people to believing them. Heck, they said the Captain was a figment of Frank’s imagination, but Scan who has all the qualifications to locate a missing person figured out who he was! You don’t know what has gone out behind the curtain except this person’s view of it and as he states it wasn’t all his view.
The author even talks about a particular person that was highly regarded on that site was going to get sued for plagiarizing articles! Jezzzzz!
I never did a seminar with them now would I ever do a seminar with them. Mna I have had enough of this bull crap! I will never write a kiss and tell book, but if I did I wouldn’t have third hand info! The cartoons might have been on another site that is now dead, but the author was a big contributor of that site and par-took in the laughs.
I am mean really, childish cartoon depicting Frank and I do sexual things to each other! Give me a break! And you post that we could all be friends! Really? And you write like these are nice guys! I mean over a sandwich the split happened! You and they don’t know what you are talking about!
Give me a break!
I have to go now because my "Famed Temper" is rising!

I agree with Dom that those cartoons were in extremely poor taste. Dom however believes that simply because the author of the 11-part series was a big contributor to the defunct web site that created those cartoons meant that the author was laughing about them. He is only telling the history as he knows it and as Dom said this may be third=hand information. The author has never laughed at Dom or Frank in my presence nor in any of our e-mail correspondence. The cartoons are a part of the history and the guy who penned those cartoons to this day disparages many people in addition to Dom and Frank on the websites to which he posts. I am sure you are right. You could never break bread with the cartoonist; however, there are principals who were trying to strike the original plans for dice control and I doubt Dom hates them.
Yes, there is more behind the scenes in regard to the split and maybe Dom doesn’t remember so well about the sandwich lunch because his "Famed Temper" was rising at lunch. Since Dom has no need to go through history and write it as he sees it and he will never "write a kiss and tell book" then we only have the other parties of the history to rely upon.
I think Dom has more class than to refuse to sit down and break bread with the principals but I doubt any meeting would be arranged. It wouldn’t change anything. History "IS WHAT IT IS."
GTC is the champagne of dice control.

"Two (or three or four) sides to every story" are not "equal viewpoints." I think we have sent men into orbit around the earth. Joey thinks that we haven’t; these pictures are produced in a movie studio. Paul disagrees with both of us. He thinks aliens from another planet are in charge of our space program and are merely appearing as if they are human beings going into space. Matt thinks these aliens are Mexicans. Whose opinion would you bet your life on?
Now to real life.
Take the Captain. I say the Captain is real and everything I have written about the Captain is true. Joe might think the Captain is a product of my imagination and a construct. Or Paul might think the Captain was real but an exaggeration for me to sell books.
Three equal opinions? Absolutely not. Here’s why: I back up my opinion with these facts.
1. My wife the beautiful AP would have to be lying about the Captain’s existence and the stories I wrote about him. (Those of you who know my wife would stop right here. AP lying? Yikes!)
2. Dom spoke to the Captain on the phone and he would have to be lying too.
3. One of our students (Vegas Jack or something) played with him at the tables in AC. The Captain had a monstrous roll. He would have to be lying when he wrote about that adventure of his. He actually had a conversation with the Captain.
4. In Atlantic City, I got a call from the wife of the late Russ "the Breather" while there for a class and I met her at Borgata. GTCers were there when I got the call. These students would have to be lying.
5. One of our students was there when the Captain had his 147 roll. He would have to be lying.
Okay the above could be challenged by a skeptic based on the assumption that everybody is lying or I can’t produce some of these people. He’d have no proof of such lying but his voice would be raised in defense of his opinion in the following way: I can’t remember the name of the guy whose nickname was Vegas (something or other) although he was a well known card counter. Wives love their husbands and might be willing to lie for them. AP loves me. Dom could be lying because he is my friend and profits from the Captain’s existence. The students who saw me get the phone call from Russ’s wife could be lying or I am lying saying they were there.
The skeptic would need a lot of people lying to make his case. Of course, he would have no proof of his opinion. Is there anything else that would favor me? Yes.
6. Our instructor Satch was the youngest member of the Captain’s crew — known as a barnacle with not a grey hair on his head in those days (I will not say anything about his current crop of hair) — and hundreds of you have met him and asked him about his experiences with the Captain. He exists. Of course, if you haven’t met him, I could be lying about his existence.
7. Many of you have met his wife Annette who obviously knew the Captain and have spoken to her about her experiences. Okay, I could be lying about her existence too.
Finally, in the "History of Dice Control" series there is a curious passage written by a former GTC teacher where he says that his adventures with me were written about in The Craps Underground and that everything I wrote about happened exactly as I wrote it. This guy is not a member of GTC anymore; he has a big issue with Dom and we have a big issue with him. He has been taking his shots at GTC in that series. But why state his opinion that everything I wrote about was true — just as it happened? Is he lying too? Interestingly enough, his statement as to the veracity of what appeared in The Craps Underground was totally ignored as the series’ author and his buddies kept harping on the fact that I am a liar and so on.
There’s more to the Captain stuff but you get the picture. It would take a massive conspiracy for me to have created and/or invented story after story of the Captain and have all these folks do their share of lying for my opinion to be wrong. It would take people who don’t even like me to be lying.
So you have a skeptic just spouting off his theories with no evidence to back them up or you have me with articles, books, and personal recollections that have not yet appeared in books and you have others who have been there and seen parts of the Captain’s tale…so are these opinions, the skeptic.s and mine, equal? Obviously not. What would you bet your life on?
In the series "The History of Dice Control" that I am talking about the author (who is, by the way, a good writer) mentions he was the first to pay a teacher of dice control. Okay, fine, good…but the payment was a dinner. Okay, fine, good…but is that why people left the PARR group? Not being fed dinner? Or was something else at work? I wrote about the history of dice control in The Craps Underground so I have no need to write it out here. (I am currently working on three books at once so my time is severely limited unless, of course, I am lying about that.)
Yes, GTC pays our instructors with real money, also lunches, parties and dinners — and the pleasure of teaching players to be the best possible players. I’d count the dinner the writer of the history of dice control gave this instructor as the first time anyone got paid for teaching. Heck, a comp is money.
Getting to the final point or the only point of this post. Just because someone writes what he thinks the history of dice control entails doesn’t mean he is right. How do you establish who to trust? I say you trust me, not because of my opinions, but because I do have people, places and things to truly back them up. I am not just shooting from the lip.
Dom mentioned in his post about real lies that were told in the history series. One of the nastiest was told about our A&E special where Dom, Sharpshooter and I defeated three casinos in head-to-head competition. We won in the last two of the three places. There were many witnesses to this win (I mention them in another post). The other dice control team lost in each of the three casinos. Not one of the participants of the other team has ever come forard to admit that they lost. Now stories have been made up about that event — as if the only witnesses were the players themselves and not a host of other people right there watching the whole thing. These stories by our critics are total lies. They are inventions.
You get the picture I am sure. We have witnesses who were at the contests versus the three casinos. These witnesses back up my story to the letter but others — who weren’t there — create their own fictions, write those fictions, and their readers believe them even though they offer not a shred of proof. Finally, one of our critics has already said that what I wrote about in The Craps Underground was exactly what happened.
I’ll leave it at that at this time.
