Closing Speeches of Republican Convention

Spread the love

Rubio – Great Speech!! He has a future for sure.

Eastwood – Love him – so that’s all I’m gonna say.

Romney – Finally gave a good speech. No goofy off color or awkward jokes. The story about his parent’s marriage and his dad presenting his mom with a flower everyday was touching. Several lies and pot shots, however, I’m sure the President will return the favor. Overall a good nite for the Republicans.

I thought Eastwood was great. Rubio amazing. Romney should have mentioned Afghanistan where our boys are being killed. The saber rattling at Russia was not a good call. Not the time or place. It was done to placate the armchair generals

What lies and pot shots?

Stopping the rising of the oceans and healing the planet?

Not being flexible for Putin?

No more apology tours?

All he did was use Obama’s own words and statements against him. Where are the lies and pot shots?

It’s really sad that you can’t even be happy for your party without finding the need to attack the other. The Republicans got plenty of "red meat" and had a nice convention in spite of weather. Romeny gave a nice speech in which he had at least one touching moment when he talked about his parent’s marriage and the passing of his father.

And even though Ann yell "I love you women", I’m sure she didn’t pull any significant amount of women to Mitt (most of us know exactly what she was trying to accomplish by yelling out). I love how the Republicans talk about the government "staying out of THEIR business" however they demand that the government get into everyone elses. Ryan’s plan (you know the one Romeny stated was "great" while he was pandering to the Republicans) wants to remove any insurance policy off the market that has any form of abortion in them. It has been argued in Congress that certain birth control products could be defined as birth control and which would cause them to be banned. Now you may think that this issue just effects women, however, women health is family health. We carry the children and for the most part we nurture the children when they need medical care. And in most cases of divorce most of us enjoy the physical custody of our children. Hence affordable health care is important to us. So if the Republicans are successful and remove those health care policy that abortions and contain birth control pills the Republicans in effect would limit the number of policy some American would be able to obtain while forcing them to spend more money for birth control. Now since some women won’t be able to afford birth control you will find a rise in unwanted pregnancies which affects everyone in the family to include husbands who probably like his wife didn’t want to have another mouth to feed. It also effects boyfriends and girlfriends and that all to famous "one night stands". Instead of being able to dump you crazy girlfriend you may be force to deal with her for the rest of your life.

And Republicans platform to create a Constitutional band on all abortions is going to keep a many pro-life and independents women and MEN from voting for them. Let me give you one example that I would wish on anyone. A young lady you know or a married family member is raped. Under the Republican platform each of those women who find themselves pregnant through no fault of their own (they certainly didn’t plan on being raped) would be forced to carry their rapist fertilized egg in their womb. Now they have to nurture their rapist fertilized egg and feel it growing, feeding off their body and moving around inside of them every single minute, of every single day for the next nine months which means she gets to relives those minutes of hours of torture from her rapist daily. Not only that her husband has to watch is wife grow bigger with another man’s fertilized egg in his wife’s womb sucking the life not only out of his wife but probably fueling his anger as well. Now he is forced to raise his wife’s rapist child. Let’s not forget the rapist is now a father and as a father in most states he has rights. So the rapist can help the husband and wife make decision about which after school activities their child will attend. He get to interact anytime he wants with the woman he raped and their isn’t a thing either of them can do about it – unless they decide to give the rapist the child or if they are allowed to they could put the child up for adoption and wonder for the rest of their life the faint of that child and if that child may show up some time in the future and want to know why he/she wasn’t good enough to keep. This scenario doesn’t get any better for a child who is molested by a family member or child molester nor is it any better for the parents who find out that the child they had been hoping for isn’t going to survive and they have to continue with the pregnancy until it is full term. No – I don’t see a lot of women and men who care about those issues or having been through those issues wanting to vote for the team that supports those issues. It’s a tough decision, a personal decision and not one you or the Government who won’t be taking care of the parents medical bills or the 18 years of child rearing that may result from said pregnancy. Now I have to admit this election is about more than abortion or healthcare, but they are both still important issues even more so if you don’t have a job.

Next week it’s the Democrats turn and I’m positive they will do just as well if not better. Then the real games begin. So enjoy your Labor Day weekend and let the politics take care of themselves (at least for the weekend).
