What Can Constitute a No Roll?

Spread the love

In the game last night one shooter had a no roll called against him. The dice hit the back wall. Both of them. Throughout the roll of about 20 numbers the boxman kept busting the chops of the roller. Then he called "no roll." I have no idea what the shooter did. I was afraid to ask because this boxman and his floor woman had frowns on their faces the whole time.

So why would the pit call no roll? There must be some criteria?

Cool,

What’s gateing? Never heard of it but it would be interesting to know. Maybe we should start a new thread for Craps terms that are not used anymore and an explanation of what they meant. Craps history can be great fun—at least to me! 🙂

Thanks!

You have every right to ask "why", regardless of their demeanor. Granted, it’s their game, they can call what they want, but we vote with our feet and if they called no roll for some foolish reason, color up and leave. You probably wouldn’t be the only one.

The casino people aren’t rocket scientists. Many of them hate their jobs an hate their customers. Of course, some of the customers are idiots.
