Feedback on Elite Video Analysi

Spread the love

I’m thinking about getting a video analysis and wanted to get some honest feedback from some who have done it. If your reply isn’t favorable you can feel free to email me off list at alamotx47@gmail.com. Much thanks. I kind of know what to expect from this board, but I thought I’d ask anyway.

I’ve been wondering the same and have not posted about it because what I really want might be a lot more intrusive than just feedback.
I’d like to see an actual example–actual footage–of the final result. Some people might not want to share theirs and that’s understandable.
An instructor could provide that, but they might want to protect their privacy and not show their faces. There are videos on youtube with GTC content; would it be possible to post a video regarding the Elite Video Analysis as well?

I took the analysis in October of 2011. I believe that I learned more about my throw than the 4 refresher classes combined. Billythe kid and Nofieldfive provide expert analysis and correct flaws not otherwise visible except thru the video analysis. My earnings from craps took a measurable increase following the analysis. I paid for my trip, the class, all expenses and money left over to put in my 401G the very next morning following the analysis. One of the best investments I made in myself.

I have not taken the Elite Video Analysis, but it has a great interest for me.

Unfortunately, Frank just posted the Class Schedule for 2013:

Las Vegas: Friday, June 28: Dice Control Tune-ups or Elite Video Analysis
Las Vegas: Friday, October 18: Dice Control Tune-ups or Elite Video Analysis

Las Vegas only for the Elite Video Analysis

While NFF and Billy the Kid (BTK) were working up the Video analysis I was a "trial" to let them have someone to work on so they could find tune the course. If you take the Video Analysis (and I hope you do) you will be filmed by NFF and Burton. NFF, Burton and BTK will look at your throw and see where the flaws are. Then you go to another table where BTK will work with you one on one. After doing this you will be filmed again to you can see in improvement. It takes between 1 and 1 1/2 hours.

When you get home, in a couple of weeks you will receive a DVD in the mail that you can play on your computer/TV. NFF will talk you through the whole video–both before and after. It will include slow motion, stop and rewind and look again, as well with NFF comentary.

Is it any good? In my opinion it is a great tool. You can use it for many years to help your throw. Tune up, video, refresher, advanced—you can’t go wrong with any of these.

To use a golf analogy even Tiger Woods and all the golf pros have swing coaches, short game coaches and putting coaches.

Remember it is not an expense–it is an investment.

Hope that helps.

Leaning toward doing it and suspect I’ll be sending my check on Monday. Alamo

The knowledge you get just seeing your dice on a slow motion camera is worth the price. The camera never lies.
Yes, I have taken it and it was worth the price, at least for me.

Anyone know if the classes are at the Alexis across from the Hard Rock and if so, what is the group rate in case I wanted to stay there?

Posted by: fscobe on August 24, 2012, 9:07 pm

Hi Alamo:

I think the rate is $79 a night or thereabouts. Every room is a suite. It’s a really nice property with a good breakfast restaurant. A lot of us stay there so we are not tempted to play while we are teaching.

I hope you got some private feedback about the video-elite course.

Watching the really slow (s-l-o-w) motion helped us learn how dice really reacted when they hit the table and back wall and this I have in my book Cutting Edge Craps: Advanced Strategies for Serious Players.

Hopefully I will see you in October!

I’m thinking about staying at the Alexis just so I don’t have to hear all the casino noise except when I choose to.

Should I mention GTC for the rate, or should I just book it?

We have changed the Video Analysis in that there is no longer a DVD. We are giving everyone a flash drive with their video files on it.
The DVD took up too much of my time to develop and process.

Smart move on your part NFF!

Catch you later!

Good idea. Nice to see GTC keeping up with technology. Is there any truth to the rumor that Frank wanted to put it on 8mm film in black and white. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Seems like the downside to a flash drive would be that it is not ready for TV…but, I guess one could just copy the flash onto a DVD for TV viewing. Is the video just as clear on flash as it would be via DVD?

Posted by: brothelman on August 25, 2012, 5:59 pm

I believe this to be a mandatory class to reach you full heights of glory.

To hear what you are doing is one thing but to see it is al togather another.

Really how many of the elite out there use a video to tune their shots all the time?

brothelman asked: Really how many of the elite out there use a video to tune their shots all the time?

I, for one, would like to know the answer to that question.

Yes we give you AVI files. They are not compressed. These are the files that I used for the DVD’s after I got back home.

Well, I certainly don’t consider myself one of the elite when it comes to my GTC shot but I do use a video camera to analyze my practice shots. Probably on an average I record about one practice session a week to look at in slow motion or as slow as my software will allow anyway. It is quite amazing what I see sometimes in my shots. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ I think this has been a useful tool for me at least. The video analysis started it all for me and with the help of NFF and Billy I learned what to look for as far as my mistakes and how to work at fixing them. Great class! ๐Ÿ™‚

AlamoTx,

I have not seen the final product but a GTC grad who had one done said it was worth it. Very professional. Looking to do one in March at the AC class. NFF and Billy the Kid, keep up the great work. See you then
