Since I have been a GTC member I have been taught the proper way to bet & that’s come betting. I live and die by it. Nothing else ever crosses my mind such as (crazy crapper betting).
Here’s my question? I recently have read that on a come out roll you can keep your come bets odds on during the come out. Is this wise to do? Do you utilize this when you feel your roll is on? Or should I just forget about this style of betting. Is this style of betting too aggressive.

I do not have my Come bets on during a Come-Out roll. iF the shooter rolls a 7, my odds are returned to me, and the “flat” bets lose. Getting my odds back seems like a bonus / Christmas to me. I know it is my money that comes back but, still feels good.
ALSO, keep in mind, if you let your odds work on the Come-Out, and a “winner 7” is the call, you lose all Come bets, flat and odds. I play Come bets as my preferred bet when I’m playing. There are places here that offer 5x, 10x and up to as much as 100x odds. If I’m playing Come bets, at max odds, losing the Odds bets would be a big hit to me. I’ve never played 100x odds but, I do play 5x and 10x odds.

As long as you have an edge over the house as a controlled shooter, the math says you should leave your odds working on the come out roll after making the point. HOWEVER
And this is a big however. The flow of the game changes dramatically after the point is made.
The dealers have to make a lot of payouts. The players have to establish their bets again from scratch. All this makes the game slow down and there is a lot of distractions that take place.
In other words, making the point can disrupt your concentration and rhythm that you had going.
If you have your odds working and throw a come out seven, losing all that money can have a huge effect on your physique, not to mention your bankroll.
When you are on a roll (long or short) making number after number, adrenaline builds up in your body. After making the point, the come out roll is a good opportunity to relax a bit and recharge the batteries. This break can be invaluable, especially on a long roll.
For all those reasons I go against the math and do not work my odds on come out rolls.

@skinny glad to see someone else realizes how important the rhythm of the games is. So frustrating when I have the dice and on a heater. it is all going great and then someone starts an argument with the dealer over the payouts and slows the game to a crawl. I know I have to learn to “let it GO” as you run into all types when your not shooting with a crew.

I totally agree with Skinny. I go against the math and NEVER work my odds!
One more reason,
Although I have seen and heard about so many YouTube videos lately, (I am writing something on this now because this really pisses me off!), filming live session at casinos and throwing in the casino’s face that certain people can beat the game with a controlled throw or at least trying to beat them, you want to act as a gambler and not put attention on yourself by calling your odds working. A gambler doesn’t do this.

I agree with Dom and Skinny, not only due to the unavoidable math – and due to one needing to be seen as a low key gambler, but also the fact that you WANT to see that nasty 7 during a come out. And, when it does….well, frankly put…it’s a welcomed relief to get back those odds no matter what your SRR or advantage is. The chips are better off in your rack, than their stack.

Section Eight, we called that a Christmas gift when all those chips come back into your rack! If that 7 came one roll earlier, as you said, you would have lost it all!

Hi Section Eight it has been some time since I have seen you or even seen any posts . I thank you again for the help with my table built back in 2009 . I am thinking about a new felt .
Well I posted a POST about come betting that I did one time . At that point I did not do repeater bets well and still feel that I have a ways to go . That said I did start to bet on the 7 after I lost like 8 to 10 come bets . I did not make a big enough one the first time I did it but I learned a little . I did finally make a win on a come bet . But then that 7 came . So after like having 15 or more come bets I won one during that roll . Well that made me think more about come betting .
The DP players were happy along with the pass line betters . I was happy with my point wins but NOT the come bets . If I remember right I lost 3 come bets when that 7 came .
I just got back from Spain were my Grand Children live . By the way they speak Russian along with 3 other s . Hope all is well with you and family and not going to Russia any more .
Good Rolling .

Like I wrote in the original post I do not ever bet that way. I happen to do a lot of reading as well as taking the seminar classes with GTC’s, I’m a student of the game. I am honored to be taught by Dom a “Master of the Game”. I try to absorb all of his knowledge when he speaks be it face to face, or he could be teaching others on the other side of the room & I still zero in on what he is saying. So, with that said, I have read all of Dom’s books & watched the videos. I treat them like I’m reading the “Bible of Craps”. Recently I purchased Sharpshooter’s book. I know that some stuff in the book might be out of date, but that’s OK, it’s for the reader the decipher what is good or outdated. That is why I posted the question. The original question, “living your come bet odds on when coming out. The pages in the book are 84-85 titled Come Out Set. I guess it was good to bring it up because someone else might read it, go out and apply it only to lose their shirt.
I’m sorry I could not reply sooner I was away.
Thanks

High Arc if you are not the roller and have come bets you do not know if the roller is trying for that 7 . So not having them work is great .
You know that when you make a come bet you are making another game some say .
