Craps

Another win at the Casino

Spread the love

Another day at the Casino, another win.

I went to my favorite Casino yesterday with a bankroll of $1,000.  My first hand was a $300 winner. I struck out on my next three hands, decided to leave the table and take a break.

I put $50 in the electronic craps game, you bet electronically but you get to throw the dice on a regular craps table ( 10″ table with microfiber).  I collected my $325 win from the $50 buy in and went to get lunch at the VIP lounge.

After lunch I attacked the regular craps tables, it was a roller coaster ride, for the next several hours. I almost lost my whole $1,000 buy in and then won it all back.

Tired and in need of a break I went to the Roullete table to sit, play and get some rest.  Lost my $1,000.00 buy in at Roulette. VERY EXPENSIVE rest.

Went to the ATM took another $500 out and went back to work at craps.  After I was all done I cashed out for $1,900, ended up hitting a 4 point fire bet. I had the 5 established as my 5th

point on the fire, but the craps gods were not with me and I lost my chance to win an additonl $1,250 and had to settle for a measly $125 instead.

I was having great rolls my 5, 6 and 9 were up to $350 and $420 several times. Still have not hit my goal of taking a number up to table max but I am working on it.

You are correct–GTC is the way.  Glad you had a winning trip to the casino.  A couple of comments:

1.  When you rest a better alternative to the roulette wheel is picking a game with a lower house edge.  Roulette  has a large house edge that over time will eat into our bankroll.  Why not go to a spot where you are not playing any negative expectation game and have something to drink.  A good way to catch your breath.  Perhaps a short time at a well paying VP $.25 game to catch your breath.  It is a good way to relax.  If you are staying at the casinos go to the room and relax.

2.  Are you place betting or come betting?  It appears to me that you are place betting with the higher house vig.  If you are come betting my apologies for thinking you are not following the come betting that Dom teaches in class.

Never thought about this . What is Max bet if you are come betting ? I am a low roller so when and if I get to max on my come bets it would be a long roll and no were near the max for Table . I start with one odds on come bet then add when it hits . Which when I have gotten 25.00 in odds a few times but no were near table max .

Good Rolling.

@dr-crapology Hi Doc, thanks for your reply. I do use come betting when I begin shooting to see how my throw is.

After I’m sure my throw is doing what I want, I bet the 5,6 and 9 because I throw these numbers with a higher than expected frequency.

I adjust for table minimums and follow this progression alternating a collect and press strategy. So far I’ve gotten as high as $420 and $350. My goal is to reach table max on one number.

6-8

$18-$42-$90-$180-$420-$900-$1800-$3000.

5-9

$15-$35-$75-$150-$350–$750-$1500-$3500

@finisher that’s a great question, I’ve never thought about table max on come bets either.

Thank you for asking this, you made me think about it. I guess if your come bet is $500 and it’s 5x odds then you can take $2,500 in odds.

I haven’t figured out the strategy to press my come bets enough to reach table max. It’s much easier to do so with place bets.

I have to give this some more thought.

Please if anyone in this forum has a strategy they use with come bets let me know.

Hi Dan I took the class before they talked much about come betting . I guess you have not taken the class lately since they do now . I have tried only come bets in the past with little wins . So now I start off with place bets but have a come bet that I put up and then take down the place bet .I do this for 2 come bets then take all my place bets down and see were the come bets go from there . It seems to work better then getting up on 3 or more come bets with that 7 out . Lately I have been lucky and when that 7 came I would have a come bet win and a loss of only 1 or 2 come bets with no odds on them . So that is a 5.00 win with a loss of only 10.00 or 15.00 ,

So do you just press the number that was hit or do you just press one number ?

I have been playing the Elec. game and I add 1.00 to the 6 and8 if one hits . Same with the 5 and 9 or 4and 10 .

I like to try different ways . But I am a low roller compared to some on this site .

Good Rolling.

Oh really Dan – you have actually recorded 5000 rolls and you have proved that you throw more 5/6/ and 9’s greater than random? If so great, you have done the right thing to prove that your betting strategy of placing those numbers is right on. Also, with those 5000 rolls, have you calculated your SRR to prove that you can overcome the house edge on the place bet of the 5/9 of 4%?

All I am saying is that if you haven’t done the above calculations, then you really can’t say that you hit those number greater than expected frequency.

Next, if you really want to be an advantage player, don’t play games like roulette where you CAN”T get an advantage.

I am so glad that you recouped your losses at roulette, but you should think about what I wrote. Just think how much you would have been up if you didn’t sit at that roulette table to take a break – learn Speed Count if you want to take a break

Were I play it is a lot easer to get a drink and relax at the VP machine then at craps . I can play VP at my own speed and talk to the wife . Then she does not want me to leave which could be a game changer .

Good Rolling.

Hi Dan I looked up your profile and saw that you took the class . So when you get your wins on those come bets in the start have you upped them after wins ? Or do you just wait till you start rolling those 5,6 and 9s ?

Good Rolling.

VP is a great game to relax – and you can’t really get an edge, but you can bring the house edge to almost nothing and the comps are good which bring it over the top

Dom The VP machine is were you can order a drink and relax till your legs feel good to go play craps . You don’t  have to worry about missing the waitress and you can use comps .

Exactly Finisher, and if you play VP accurately when you include all those factors you can gain a slight edge. I wish I liked playing VP – I don’t ….. LOL

@dominator Hi Dom, nice to hear from you, sorry for the late reply time is in short supply. I hope your sports wagering endeavor is exceeding your expectations.

Regarding my toss count I have logged over 18,000 throws, however, must of those were prior to taking your wonderful class. BTW, you should consider renaming the class as the Road to the ATM, because ever since I took your class I seem to win every time I hit the casino, thank you.

Since taking the Primer Class I’ve logged only 2,376 tosses, my SRR IS 7.15 and my Box Number to Seven Ratio is a low 5.05z

Obviously, I still have a lot of work to do to improve my game.

Anyway I find I win more if I use place bets, it’s kind of weird though, the last time I was at the casino I was pressing my come bets with odds and I ended up hitting the 8 with a $100 come bet and $300 odds. That hand alone, I ended up $800 using come bets.

Yes come bets are great, however, sometimes I find that I win more by just pressing and collecting on the numbers I throw most often.

Looking forward to taking another class in CT.

Hi Shooter

Thanks for the kind words!

That SRR is good, but remember you are only half way there with 2300 rolls recorded. You need 5000 trials/rolls to get any accurate statistically anyalisis ….. that is not to say that what you are doing is really good, but I do want to remind you of that.

Also think about this – If you like to press the numbers you are hitting, then comebets are the way to go because you will be playing the numbers you are hitting.

We will be back in CT in October 2022
