Were I play they have 14 ft. tables . I am wondering how many of you have to play on them or even longer ones since there are no 12 ft. tables near you ?
I built a 12 ft. table but mostly practice R2 and L2 since the casino has 14 ft. tables .
Since I have been at home a lot have be able to watch a lot of videos on U tube .They ALL seem to throw with no chips in their way . Which is not a realistic thing to do . I do all of mine with 4 players money out in the way . This is to try to make it more like real play . I wonder how many do this ? I also make bets as I would in casino . this has helped me understand what the dealers have to go threw in playing and paying the game .
There are some new videos out there about or from dealers about high rollers and different players . They can give you some insight on how the dealers feel about some players .
There sure is a lot of players that bet real strange compared to the GTC way .
Good Rolling.

You are so right Finisher when you say that there are so many out there that are telling viewers how to bet that don’t have any basis in the math of the game! It really bothers me when is see that. Golden Touch has always in our 21 years of doing this has always preached that we honer the math and the physics of the game.
As far as 14 foot tables – you are doing the right thing both with placing chips in your way and moving. Your other point about practicing your betting is SO IMPORTANT as well! You need to throw the dice with an “EMPTY MIND” – that is you shouldn’t be throwing and then thinking of what you are going to bet and how you are going to bet with presses and such. So very important!
Thank you for this post!

I like long tables. The stick can harass you on a short table. (Which happened in February). My longest money making table was short. I was taking piss breaks and spent about three hours playing mostly by myself. The dealers made a lot of money that day. I have also had long money making rolls on long tables.
It all comes down to practice, practice, practice. You take what they taught us and practice. I practice for long tables and short tables at the house. I prepare for the trip. When I don’t prepare I don’t do well. When I practice it transfers to the Casino.
I have experienced guys building towers on the end zone which baffles me. Why don’t they use $100 chips instead. I just lean out and drop the dice in-between the towers. Some table are too high to lean out and avoid someone who places their chips in the landing zone. I was at an empty table in Vegas and had that happen.
I just walked.

I erased the name of the casinos mentioned in this reply because we never want to mention casinos on this site.

I use to be 5 ft. 6 but now I am 5ft. 4 so all tables are tall to lean out on just saying . If I cant reach my come bets I prefer not to play on these tables .
There is one were I use to play at is like that . I loved playing there till they got this new table . I have not played there in about 6 yrs but go back to see if they have changed it . So far no luck .
Good Rolling.

@Finisher, agreed on all points. My home casino opens the 14′ first, so I practice SL2 and longer given current day. I make sure to track my rolls separately on Roll Recorder. And I always practice betting along with throwing. It’s part of the mental game as well as the rhythm.

Looking for some feedback.
I play at a casino with 12, 14 and 16ft tables.
I am about 6’2 and have longer than normal arms and huge hands.
I seem to have much more success on the longer tables than the shorter ones.
I have my practice station set up to throw from 8.5 feet.
WIth a nice easy short backswing and a smooth follow through it is like the 14ft table fits me better. I dont know if that is true, does anyone have any comments on this?

@cliffm1, your dimensions do appear to fit SL2 on a 12’ table, or SL1 on a 14’ table. Keep in mind that regardless of long legs and long arms, if your dice have to travel 9 1/2’ instead of 8 1/2’, that extra foot requires more energy in the dice, making randomness a bigger problem. More backspin helps.
Every American Indian casino I visited had 14’ tables. Why is that? Such tables have only one spot for me, whereas a 12’ table offers 2 spots, SR1 and SR2 (pre-COVID-19).
As to practicing on a clear table at home, then faced with chips in your landing zone at the casino, that is a problem. At home, add chips in your regular landing zone. You will have to bounce over the hazard, or land behind them, a less than desirable situation. I like the challenge. On occasion, I am faced with a wall of chips too high to feasibly avoid. For that, I move my landing zone back an inch, expecting the dice to hit the table and bounce directly into the chips. A wall of Chips are less effective than the back wall at randomizing the dice. Otherwise, I lean further out to the middle of the table. Such a position, though, makes the pendulum throw more difficult to keep straight up and down. Of course, you can leave and return later.

Finisher, You said you have lost about 2 inches in height making a tall table a little more difficult to make a good throw. I do have lost a little height, but I was much taller to begin with. May Rose and Doc suggest you carry a little something to stand on. Nine out of ten times the craps personnel will not say anything, but if they do just don’t stand on it. I know Mr. Finesse was very short and the carrier one into the casino all the time.
Doc keeps a small supply of a brief case size box at the various class location. Comet to an open house and you and try one for size. They are available for you to purchase. Will make you a deal you can’t refuse.

I had gained wait before a trip to Vegas last year. I noticed my belly kept me from leaning out. No kidding. We are athletes. No excuse for letting that happen. LOL
