We visited with a friend (not a GTC alum) and got a good report on the general conditions at the strip casinos. The report was general in nature:
The casinos and hotel rooms were extremely clean
Both customers and employees wore masks at all times
Social distancing (6 feet) was not only enforced but everyone seemed to voluntarily follow the rules.
Plenty of machines and tables were open with social distancing at and/or between players and table games.
So based on this very limited report Rose and Doc were excited that the class as well as the over all conditions should allow for a fun and successful trip.
We if you haven’t signed up for the October class now might be a good time to set up a trip. Once we get closer the class may very well fill up quickly.
Look forward to seeing everyone soon.
Rose and Doc

I also got a report from a friend, K, who drives to Vegas and had just returned from a 3 day visit. He loves craps and did well, so he had an overall exciting time. Answering my questions, K said no buffets are open, but more than a few restaurants are. I didn’t think to ask about room service. He and friends stayed in a suite downtown at a casino that kept 3+ craps tables going. He also visited and played at strip casinos, some I favor.
All casinos he visited limited each table to 6 players. Only one casino had plexiglas walls between positions. They never had any trouble getting a table, and K always got SL1, his preferred. K also said the minimum bet was $50, but he prefers tables like that, so there might have been some $25 tables. From what he saw, none were below $25 where he played.
K liked the fewer players, since even at tables where every player wanted to shoot, the longest it took for him to get the dice was 30 minutes. K also said the players were all there to play craps and not mess around, distracting the shooter. He attributed that to the higher minimum.
Of course, there were no shows. Is Vegas now what it was 50 years ago?
Since he drove, he could not say what it was like flying into Vegas. If someone has a report on Vegas air travel, I am very interested.

Doc, Rose, Preacher
I just returned from Vega$ and Laughlin 3 nights at downtown Vegas and 1 night in Laughlin.
As stated the mask is mandatory when you enter the Casino area, and is strictly enforced. Most properties would only allow 6 players total, I have found 1 exception in downtown. I met someone that recognized an advantaged player and we talked a little while off the table and decided to try a ride on the strip. “lots of walking involved if all tables are at capacity” Did see and played on a table that had the plexiglass dividers I personally did not do that well was it the divider ? We left and did some more walking found a table that was at capacity and they do not allow spectators to crowd the table closely keeping everyone back 6 feet. I did happen to notice a player that had a LONG rack of 25$ chips, I said let’s watch this game a minute. The next roll was a 2 snake eyes the table went wild ! The shooter came over and told us that is the 2nd time I hit the ATS ! Several of the players had it for 20, 20, 20 since that shooter had previously hit it. I did hit the ATS once at a property in downtown, for a much smaller amount. The 2nd day I hit the TALL. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone in October.
