Craps

Weekend Michigan trip

Spread the love

This was my first road trip since the May Atlantic city seminar. I usually play once a week in my local casino but this was my first opportunity to try my new skills on the road.
We stayed off property because the rooms in the Casino though very nice were very expensive. Looking back I will not stay off property again because I like the convenience of being on property
for quick practice sessions etc.
Session 1 : Evening of arrival day. There was 2 tables open but no available spots at SL1. I decided to play black jack and keep my eye on the craps tables until my spot opened up.
After about 30 minutes SL1 opened up and I was able to get on. It was a $5 table with about 3 or 4 other players. I got off to my usual slow start roll point out 2 or three times but
because of using come betting losses were minimal. In between rolls I tried to go over all of the proper techniques , set the dice, little back swing, make sure dice are square, 45 degree
angle one bounce of the table one bounce of wall etc. Things got a little better and started having some moderate success . After about an hour table filled up and I left with a small profit.

Session 2: Morning of day one. Wore a fairly heavy shirt as casinos are always cold and I usually freeze . But they fooled me and it was hot . I was not comfortable and considered leaving
but continued to play. Short 7 outs several times. I became gun shy and just bet the minimum on pass line each roll hoping to find my form. There was another player close to me
betting $100 dollars chips. After about my fourth roll I finally figured it out and had a good roll maybe 20 times. I was very uncomfortable and gun shy so just continued to bet the
minimum (I know big mistake). The guy betting the black chips probably made at lease a thousand on my roll and at one point bet a green chip for me. This was much appreciated and
gave me a little confidence. I left after about an hour with a small profit.

Session 3: late afternoon session. I will admit to having a couple of cold beverages. I spotted a emply $10 table . I walked up into SL 1 bought in for $300.00 and proceeded to play.
I started off as usual playing horribly. I was betting for the dealers almost every roll so they were all rooting for me as I continued to 7 out each roll. Trying to figure out what was wrong
time after time. Each time I sevened out a groan went up from the crowd (the dealers). Thanx to the come betting I managed not to go broke and decided to go and play blackjack.
My friends (the dealers) were sorry to see me go as their steady stream of tips would dry up. I decided to play blackjack and try to go over all of the techniques in my mind to figure out
what I was doing wrong. I remember Dom telling me to get up on my toes over the table so that the dice would be level. I got lucky at blacjack and made about $150 and decided to
go back to the craps table and try again. All of my friends were still there and the table was still empty. I concentrated on getting up on my toes over the table, making sure the dice were level
and using the lines on the table to be sure of a level swing. Things improved my friends were applauding as I continued to win. After about an hour I managed to recoup my previous losses
and leave with a small over all profit. Thanx Dom and all of the great instuctors . If there is any interest in this post I will continue to report my progess.

This post was very well written and a good read. So many good points – proper betting to reduce losses.

One thing I did notice is that you are into a mindset that you always start off bad. GET RID OF THOSE THOUGHTS!

Keep them coming! You had many views!
