Success with Short Table

Spread the love

Having started my dice game shooting from the end really prevented me from being able to shoot by the stick on a short ten foot table. They always felt like eight feet. I couldn’t even shoot from the end. I always practiced from fourteen feet at the house. I showed Dom the picture of my setup. I have to tell you that all of my recent disciplined practice payed off this past weekend on my return trip. The one thing is that the end zone behind the Pass Line is no longer the the length of your hand wrist to finger tip on the short table.

If two players place Pass Line Bets with odds and even a Fire Bet you lose your landing zone. After a change of players at the end I had to deal with two Bets with Odds. I first hit the chips and severed out. On my next round I leaned out on my toes and shot down the middle in-between the two piles of chips and continued to hit the numbers. I didn’t let it bother me. I just focused on my game. They bounced and hit the wall with good numbers.

The only reason I played this table is because I discovered it after a cup of coffee with lots of sugar and milk. I had been at the casino all afternoon unable to get into a good table. I really thought the trip was a bust. And we would soon be returning back to the homestead. With only a couple of guys and a Don’t Come player the dice came around quickly at first for a bit before others joined in. I stayed too long and lost my gain but still retained my bank.

Sometimes you have to either leave and go somewhere else or pass the time watching other table games or visit the High Limits for some temporary entertainment. I have witnessed some serious Whale Action at this location on the table games passing the time. It makes the trip worth the drive.

Were I play some times they have half of table open in some of the casinos . I have not played that way yet . It just seems strange to play on a table that is so short . I use to throw from end but now find that hard to do . Most of the time when I go to play if there is vary few players they are at the end of table .
I don’t think there is any regulation on the felts .You need to look for one that fits you or change the one at home . Just a thought . My table is 12 feet so I stand a little passed the stick . Most tables I play on are 14 ft. I will not play on longer tables or high tables .
Good Rolling. 😀 🙂

I agree with you Finisher. A twelve foot table is a good fit. The end zone on a table like that leaves plenty of room for the roll.
And now with my improved grip learned in the Primer, shooting from the side is more natural to execute.

I should sign off as recovering End Shooter
